Lighting Control for Railway StationsThe following article recently appeared in the August / September 2004 edition of Rail Technology Magazine: Tried and tested lighting controllers for use on stations and car parks etc. have now been made available to the railway industry. Control Systems & Equipment Ltd has been supplying lighting controllers for use on petrol stations for many years and leading oil companies specifies its equipment. The "Aurora" range of lighting controllers can be supplied as a stand-along unit, in enclosures with additional facilities or part of a distribution board with circuit breakers and contactors. Each system can be tailored to the exact requirements of a specific site. The Aurora system has a single light sensor linked to a controller which has three separate zones of control. Each zone can be individually adjusted for on/off set point level. Adjustable time delays for on and off are provided to avoid 'hunting". Manual override and status indication is also a standard feature. The controller works on a "fail safe" principle for safety.
