Control Systems Environmental policy
It is the policy of Control Systems & Equipment Ltd to conduct our business in such a way as to respect the environment both locally and globally and minimize any impact we may have on it. We want to preserve and improve the environment for the benefit of generations to come.
We will comply fully with all relevant statutory regulations, and will carry out ongoing staff training to ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities to comply with these regulations.
We will reuse packaging wherever possible. We will separate waste metals, paper, cardboard, shrink-wrap, ink and toner cartridges, scrap cable and any hazardous waste and arrange for collection from the relevant recycling authorities.
We have already reduced the amount of waste going to landfill from our Head Office site by 70% over the last two years.
We will continue to look at other ways of reducing waste to landfill at our other sites.
We will ensure that company vehicles will be as environmentally friendly as practically possible.
We will monitor energy and water use within our buildings and strive to find ways to minimize the usage. We estimate a saving of 8% on our electricity usage this year compared to last year. Three of our sites have their electricity supplied by Ecotricity who invest heavily in wind turbines with the rest of our sites converting to them by June 2008.
